Each year, CivicRisk Mutual recognises outstanding members who have made a positive impact in their communities through effective risk management programs and initiatives.
Awards of Excellence are presented to members who demonstrate leadership, the ability to solve problems creatively and a proactive approach toward managing risks for the benefit of the communities and people they serve.
Our Awards
CivicRisk Mutual Risk Excellence Award (Trophy + $3,000 grant)
Recognises the member who has demonstrated excellence in their risk management efforts and embodied the values of the Mutual by collaborating with others, developing new initiatives and leading by example.
Les Emerson Claims Management Award (Trophy + $2,000 grant)
Given to the member that has significantly improved their claims performance and/or reduced the claims risk exposure due to their proactive approach to risk management.
WTW Risk Management Award (Trophy + $2,000 grant)
Honours the member that has executed exceptional risk management initiatives within their council during the previous 12 months.
Highly Commended Certificates
Presented to the members that have demonstrated a high level of achievement in the areas of risk or claims management.

2022 Nomination Process
Our awards are a chance to celebrate the best risk management initiatives in Australia and recognise those who have shown excellence in their processes and strategies.
In 2021, we had more than 13 nominations. This year, we’re looking for even more! We want to hear your stories of success; of how you overcame challenges and improved your council’s resilience.
We’re looking for entries that demonstrate superior risk management, and that evidentiate the value our partnership has served towards the achievement of your strategic objectives.
Your stories have the potential to be an inspiration to others — and your programs may be used as models by other city councils. We’re also seeking nominations of individuals who have shown exceptional leadership in the risk management field, or whose work has improved the lives of the people around them.
All members are encouraged to submit entries — both for themselves and for others — through the form available in CivicRisk Mutual’s member portal.
