Risk Enhance Program

To help our members feel more secure, supported and cared for as they create safer communities, we offer CivicRisk Mutual’s Risk Enhance Program to assist with their unique risk management needs. This program involves generous funding grants — $20,000 per year — for all member councils.

How Does It Work?

Once the Continuous Risk Improvement Program (CRIP) audits are completed, members can submit an application with a service partner proposal to the Mutual for consideration, identifying an initiative that will mitigate risk or enhance their risk management framework. Once approved, and the project is completed to the member’s satisfaction, the Mutual proceeds to make the payment to the service provider.

Each Council has the power to allocate its funding as it sees fit, so long as it contributes toward its risk management strategy — here are just a few examples from our members:

  • Asset Management Plans.
  • Business Continuity Plan Reviews, Training and Testing.
  • Code of Conduct Training.
  • Contractor Management.
  • Cyber Risk Assessments.
  • Delegation Templates.
  • Driver Safety Training and Workshops.
  • Risk Assessments.
  • Risk Reporting Tools.
  • Strategic Risk Workshops.

These initiatives help Councils plan for the future and prepare their communities for dealing with current and emerging risks.

In addition, any unused funds can be carried forward into the next period but cannot exceed two years’ worth of grants, or $40,000.

Hear What Our Members Are Saying

The generous funding grants from CivicRisk Mutual have allowed us to develop a plan to educate and test the competence of all our drivers and to purchase a contractor management module. This funding has prevented lengthy delays in addressing the two issues which constitute a risk to Council.
