Protecht Academy: Updated Course Access for CivicRisk Members

What’s Changed?

Over the past 12 months, CivicRisk Mutual members received access to two complimentary Protecht Academy courses as part of their membership. These were extremely well received and widely utilised.

As of 3 June 2025, these complimentary courses have expired. In their place, Protecht has introduced a new subscription-based model that provides unlimited access to a broader range of courses across two tiers: Foundation and Professional.

What’s Included in the New Subscriptions?

Under the new model, each council will receive:

  • One licence for the Foundation subscription
  • One licence for the Professional subscription

This means councils can continue to build their capability in risk management, compliance, and governance – with access to content that suits both introductory and advanced learning needs.

Foundation Tier (Short form courses):

Ideal for councillors, executive leadership, and frontline staff.

  • Risk Management for Board (3 hours)
  • Risk Management for Line 1 (3 hours)
  • Risk Management Fundamentals for Everyone (30 minutes)

Professional Tier (In-depth Learning Modules):

Designed for risk managers, governance professionals, and other specialists.

Each course runs 3 – 5 hours.

To activate your council’s access:

  • Assign a representative for each subscription line (Foundation and Professional)
